Citing Primary Source Photographs And Films In Chicago Style - Guide 2022
The Chicago style of citation is generally used in subjects related to humanities. Therefore, it is the only style that requires the essay writer to include the dimensions of the work used in the papers. It consists of two basic parts: a bibliography and notes.

There are some things that should be noted in this regard. First, images do not appear in the bibliography, only the notes in the format mentioned above. The citation of films follows the style used for books, with the addition of medium type. A portion of a video is cited as a chapter of a book, using chapter numbers that are provided if the medium is a DVD. Supplementary material that is
included on a DVD is cited as a chapter. The general format used for citing films in the Chicago style is as follows:
Director Firstname Lastname, Film Title (Original publication date; Publication City: Publisher, Publication date), Medium.
Director Lastname, Firstname. Film Title. Original publication date; Publication city: Publisher, Publication date. Medium.
